So as some of you may already know. Michael Bay is producing the remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street. Here are new releases for the production including screen stills and a movie poster. The trailer will be released this Thursday so look out for that as well.
The film will be directed Samuel Bayer. Bayer who’s previous works included music videos and shorts, this film will be his feature film debut. Terrorized by Freddy Krueger are slightly known teen actors including Kyle Gallner, Katie Cassidy, Rooney Mara, Thomas Dekker, and Kellan Lutz. The supported by veteran actors Clancy Brown and Connie Britton. This follows the similar formula of the original film, where we have film stars such as Johnny Depp getting their starts.
A Nightmare on Elm Street is based on characters created by Wes Craven in his 1984 sleeper horror hit. That film went on to become one of the horror genre’s longest-running, most successful and innovative film series, spawning seven sequels. Now, 25 years later, comes a contemporary incarnation of the Freddy Krueger origin story.
Official Plot Synopsis: Freddy Krueger returns in A Nightmare on Elm Street, a contemporary re-imagining of the horror classic. A group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger, a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another…but when they sleep, there is no escape.
Theatrical Film Release is set for April 30, 2010 as the poster presents.
