AMC has announced that they will be picking up the live-action adaptation tv series for the comic book Walking Dead. The comic book was created by Robert Kirkman through Image Comics. Frank Darabont is said to be directing the pilot episode in the six-episode series pick-up.

Jon Bernthal has been cast as Officer Shane, a key player in the series and best-friend of the protagonist, Office Rick Grimes. No other cast names has been revealed or added as of yet. But we will update you as they come along.

The series will premier on AMC during Freakfest, an annual television event they hold that holds horror and thriller programs. A fitting spot to be placed in for the premier of the show. More information on the TV show and comic book to come.
