George A. Romero, also known as the master of zombie movies, has come out with a new installment to his “dead” series. Oh you haven’t heard of them? Come on I’m sure you have, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Diary of the Dead. Okay, maybe Diary of the Dead didn’t do too well in anybody’s eyes as it was basically a weak movie to watch. Out of the whole series it was by far the weakest “of the dead” movie in the pack. But that doesn’t stop Romero from coming up with another zombie film.

Survival of the Dead as it’s predecessors takes place in the land taken over by those flesh-loving organ eating zombies. The trailer makes the movie seem a whole lot better than Diary of the Dead. The film sets up the whole battle of ‘us vs. them’ basically the living vs. the undead. The film definitely looks a lot better than the poorly made film before it. You can compare for yourself down at the bottom the first video you’ll see a clip of Diary of the Dead and then we’ll have the trailer for Survival of the Dead.

Survival of the Dead is out on DVD in the UK right now; the film hits video on demand in the US on April 30, then will appear in theaters starting on May 28. How is this going to work? I’m sure the zombie cult followers will find a way to make it work.
