Phew!! I just got done wrapping things up on day 1 at the Staple Convention center for e3 2010, and I have to say it was fun not just as an attendee but as a reporter this time around.
Remember that secret ending in Kingdom Hearts II? Well that is not the trailer for kingdom Hearts III, but a more for a prequel to Kingdom Heart II. Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep will fill in some of the questions that was left off from Kingdom Hearts II. The Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep demo starts with a cinematic with a character that looks almost identical to Kingdom Hearts II’s character Roxas, his name is Ven. Ven happens to be in trouble with a handful of enemies. Though The enemies doesn’t seem to take the appearances of any heartless. Before things get messy, the heroine Terra defends Ven transitioning to gameplay.
The Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep ran very smooth on the PSP with no signs of frame rate issues. The game also looks very good and is comparable to the previous installment on the PS2. As for gameplay and combat the it is very much similar to the previous installments as well. The only thing that is different is the camera and lock-on features in the game. The R and L buttons are used to change the camera, and if you press both R and L at the same time the character will lock-on to the enemy or interactive NPCs and items.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm was by far the best Naruto fighting game to date. Two years after and Namco Bandai, has now planned to ship Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 this year in September. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 takes place after the first game and where the orginal series left off. In the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 demo, it starts off with Naruto and Sakura facing Kakashi in a sparring match. The demo starts off easy to get the players familiar with the game if not have played with the previous Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm game. After reducing Kakashi’s health, the game will switch to some quick time events to show off some very flashy cinematic. Once the cinematic is done, the player will notice Kakashi has the high ground attacking the player with ninjutsu. Such as Kakashi’s signature move “chidori” and his water style, dragon blast. Forcing the player to use Sakura to throw off Kakashi from his place. After depleting Kakashi’s health bar another quick time event will take place ending the demo with Naruto using one of Kakashi’s funnier moves 1000 years of pain against him.
The fighting mechanics in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 remains the same, no additional gameplay elements nor any core elements taken out. The only thing different in the playable demo was the change of the character’s appearances and new fighting techniques for the characters. Such as Naruto’s special move, instead of a regular rasengan, Naruto now uses his odama rasengan (giant rasengan). Overall it was still a very fun game.

To all Call of Duty fans, watch out cause Medal of Honor is…awesome! I am a huge Call of Duty fan, but playing the Medal of Honor multiplayer at this year’s e3 really opened my eyes about FPS games that takes place in a war like setting. I am talking about fun battles taken place in a very detailed war torn city. Especially the map I played today, it was very detailed to the bone. Buildings torn apart, and street filled with rubble. This modern war game also allows up to 24 player in a game, it truely felt like war especially with the street being populated by other players (noobs, they were so easy to pick off). The game plays just like most FPS games these days, so it should be a easy game to pick up for FPS fans out their. The multiplayer demo allows players to choose the Assault class, Spec Ops class, and the Sniper Class. Players are allowed to modify any part of their primary gun, such as the sight of the gun, the barrel, and the types of ammunition.
Although the multiplayer portion of the game was being shown, it is still to early to tell how the whole game will play. But either way Medal of Honor is at a great start. Be sure to check out Medal of Honor when this game hit store shelves later this year.
