San Diego Comic-Con 2010 has quite a few playable games in the Exhibition Hall for the public this year. Over the next few days, we will bring you a few previews and trailers, but for now, the spotlight will be on Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.

Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, due out on November 16th for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, will be the first in the series to delve into multiplayer. And after what I experienced this week at Comic-Con, I must say that I have high hopes for the online addition. How high? Let’s just say that the last game in a similar situation (Uncharted 2: Among Thieves) exceeded my expectations, and I feel that Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood is on that same road.
If you’ve ever played any of the previous games in the Assassin’s Creed series, then you are already familiar with most, if not all, of the multiplayer game mechanics. The free running, the climbing, the chasing, the blending, the sneaking, and yes, the assassinating, are all intact, and playing with friends definitely enhances the experience.
For the playable demo, we played the Wanted game mode (same demo from E3) with 8 players roaming around a section of Rome, presumably from the campaign. Think of Wanted like a deathmatch game mode blended with a chase from any of the Assassin’s Creed games. At the start of the match, everyone chooses a type of character to use, such as a doctor, a priest, a courtesan, etc, and then a set of abilities. The abilities are paired together, such as boosted sprinting and throwing knives to slow down enemies, or smoke grenades and a hidden gun to take out enemies from afar, and so on.
So far, all of us here at WhargarblTV definitely liked what we saw of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Even with just one game mode to show off on the floor of Comic-Con, one thing is for certain. This is definitely a game to keep on the radar, or maybe even a game to pre-order now.
Also at Comic-Con, Ubisoft was kind enough to release a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Hit the play button below to watch the moving pictures with sound.
