This is a continuation for the previous post that was Part 1. Here I will feature shows from FOX and CBS.
INTRO FROM PART 1:
Now that the Fall season is upon us, network television is releasing some of it’s best work in a long time. Now that LOST has finished their series and it was a quite strong ending, and that Heroes has been undeniably canceled. What is left out there to watch on television?
There has been several announcement made from major network television that some of your favorite shows are coming back, and that they have new additions to their lineup. Monday was a big day for debuts, and they delivered in their promise to entertain. Below is a short list, description and some thoughts on the show listed in no particular order: (Warning! Spoiler Alerts)

CBS – How I Met Your Mother - returning again for another season is Ted, Marshall, Lily, Robin, and of course Barney Stinson. They’ve laid out a lot of groundwork for the show already, they’ve even gotten to the point where Ted purchased the house that he is telling his story in now. It seems like it’s almost time to meet the kid’s mother.
HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER is a comedy about Ted (Josh Radnor) and how he fell in love. It all started when Ted’s best friend, Marshall (Jason Segel), dropped the bombshell that he was going to propose to his longtime girlfriend, Lily (Alyson Hannigan), a kindergarten teacher. At that moment, Ted realized that he had better get a move on if he, too, hopes to find true love. Helping him in his quest is his friend Barney (Neil Patrick Harris), a confirmed bachelor with endless, sometimes outrageous opinions, a penchant for suits and a foolproof way to meet women. When Ted meets Robin (Cobie Smulders), he’s sure it’s love at first sight, but destiny has something else in store. The series is narrated through flashbacks from the future.
This means it’s time to play my favorite game of .. “Haaave you met….” How I Met Your Mother on CBS Monday Nights
FOX – HOUSE - Everyone’s favorite doctor that we love to hate is back on FOX Monday nights. Dr. Gregory House has returned and is more ruthless than ever. You think that hooking up with Cuddy would tame the beast? It looks as if it’s only be let out of his cage. Expect more House-isms and incredible feats in medical mystery. The phenomenon which is House.
DR. GREGORY HOUSE (Laurie), devoid of bedside manner and dealing with his own constant physical pain, uses a cane that punctuates his acerbic, brutally honest demeanor. His behavior often borders on antisocial, but House is a brilliant diagnostician whose unconventional thinking and flawless instincts afford him a great deal of respect. An infectious disease specialist, he thrives on the challenge of solving medical puzzles in order to save lives.
House shepherds an elite team of experts who help him unravel diagnostic mysteries, including plastic surgeon DR. CHRIS TAUB (Peter Jacobson), enigmatic DR. REMY HADLEY/THIRTEEN (Olivia Wilde) and surgeon DR. ROBERT CHASE (Jesse Spencer). He has a confidant and good friend in oncology specialist DR. JAMES WILSON (Robert Sean Leonard), and maintains a somewhat volatile and undefined relationship with DR. LISA CUDDY (Lisa Edelstein), the Dean of Medicine and hospital administrator. Though the two are in constant conflict over House’s duties and unconventional behavior, even she would admit that his brilliance is worth the trouble. Neurologist DR. ERIC FOREMAN (Omar Epps) serves as Cuddy’s eyes and ears on House’s team.
In the Season Six finale, House, driven by the loss of a patient he treated at an accident site and confronted with the unexpected news that Cuddy was now engaged, spiraled into despair and considered treating his mental and emotional anguish with Vicodin, potentially prompting the cycle of his dependency and addiction all over again. But in a surprising turn, Cuddy revealed that she called off her engagement and admitted to House she loves him, despite wishing she didn’t. Also, Thirteen submitted her leave of absence from the hospital, prompting questions about the status of her health.
As Season Seven begins, House and Cuddy attempt to make a real relationship work and face the question as to whether their new relationship will affect their ability to diagnose patients. -HOUSE on FOX Monday Nights
FOX – Lie to Me – This is the compelling drama series inspired by the scientific discoveries of a real-life psychologist who can read clues embedded in the human face, body and voice to expose the truth and lies in criminal investigations.
DR. CAL LIGHTMAN (Tim Roth) is the world’s leading deception expert. If you lie to Lightman, he’ll see it in your face and your posture or hear it in your voice. If you shrug your shoulder, rotate your hand or even just slightly raise your lower lip, Lightman will spot the lie. By analyzing facial expressions and involuntary body language, he can read feelings ranging from hidden resentment to sexual attraction to jealousy. His work gives him the knowledge and skill set to expertly deceive others as well as detect lies. But as Lightman well knows, his scientific ability is both a blessing and a curse in his personal life, where family and friends deceive each other as readily as criminals and strangers do.
Lightman heads a team of experts at The Lightman Group who assist federal law enforcement, government agencies and local police with their most difficult cases. DR. GILLIAN FOSTER (Kelli Williams) is a gifted psychologist and Lightman’s professional partner who brings balance to the partnership by looking at the bigger picture while Lightman focuses on the details. He needs her guidance and insight into human behavior, whether he knows it or not.ELI LOKER (Brendan Hines) is Lightman’s lead researcher. He is so uncomfortable with the human tendency to lie that he usually practices what he calls “radical honesty.” He says everything on his mind and often pays the price. RIA TORRES (Monica Raymund) is the newest member of the agency and one of the few “naturals” in the field of deception detection. Her raw, untrained ability to read people makes her a force to be reckoned with. - LIE TO ME on FOX Monday Nights

CBS – HAWAII 5-0 - Hawaii 5-0 is a remake of an old television show with the same title. Set in the Hawaiian islands, the show puts a fantastic cast together and started the new show with a bang. Critics and fans loved it, and are left wanting more. From it’s catchy and timeless intro song, to the infamous catch phrase “Book’em Danno.” Hawaii 5-0 is going to be a lot of people’s go-to show this fall.
HAWAII FIVE-0 is a contemporary take on the classic series about a new elite federalized task force whose mission is to wipe out the crime that washes up on the Islands’ sun-drenched beaches. Detective Steve McGarrett, a decorated Naval officer-turned-cop, returns to Oahu to investigate his father’s murder and stays after Hawaii’s Governor persuades him to head up the new team: his rules, her backing, no red tape and full blanket authority to hunt down the biggest “game” in town. Joining McGarrett is Detective Danny “Danno” Williams, a newly relocated ex-New Jersey cop – a working man in paradise who prefers skyscrapers to the coastline – but whose committed to keeping the Islands safe for his 8-year-old daughter; and Chin Ho Kelly, an ex-Honolulu Police Detective, and former protégé of McGarrett’s father, wrongly accused of corruption and relegated to a federal security patrol. Chin’s cousin, Kono, is a beautiful and fearless native, fresh out of the academy and eager to establish herself among the department’s elite. McGarrett, repairing his relationship with his estranged sister Mary Ann, vows to bring closure to their father’s case, while the state’s brash new FIVE-0 unit, who may spar and jest among themselves, is determined to eliminate the seedy elements from the 50th state. – Monday nights look pretty busy in the television world, but it just means more shows to DVR and watch throughout the week. I think the Fall line-up for all the TV Networks is the best we’ve had in a while, and am definitely looking forward to what will happen for these shows.
