It has been a couple months since I’ve reported news on the upcoming Superman movie. Well after all this patient waiting, the BIG news has been released by Warner Brothers & Legendary Pictures that their last son of Krypton is none other than HENRY CAVILL.
For those that don’t know, Henry Cavill is most known for his reccent work on the Showtime television series The Tudors. Also some of his reccent movies are Startdust, Tristan & Isolde, and The Count Of Monte Cristo. I for one think Henry Cavill will make a great Superman. Here’s what director Zack Snyder had to say: “In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen, I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and ‘S’ shield.”
I’m sure it wasn’t an easy choice for producer Christopher Nolan and Warner Brothers but besides Henry Cavill, the other contenders were Matthew Goode, Matthew Bomer, Armie Hammer, Joe Manganiello, and Colin O’Donaghue. Here’s some movie trivia for ya….Henry Cavill has been considered to play the man of steel before. Back in 2005 director McG was attached to make a Superman film. McG was dropped and Bryan Singer came in with his returns story and cast Brandon Routh instead. The upcoming Superman film is expected to be in theaters in December of 2012. Keep checking back for more Superman news.
