Earlier this week I posted a 5 second teaser clip of Rise of the Planet of the Apes in my THIS WEEK IN MOVIES! segment. But now the first trailer for the film has arrived, check it out:

The title kind of gives you an idea of what the movie is about but according to the Rise of the Planet of the Apes website the story is:

Rise of the Apes is an origin story in the truest sense of the term. Set in present day San Francisco, the film is a reality-based cautionary tale, a science fiction/science fact blend, where man’s own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy. A reboot prequel story to the original 1968 scifi classic film, “Planet of the Apes” starring Charlton Heston.

The movie looks serious and the visuals look good as well. In the brief moments that we see James Franco and Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire), it seems like they do good together.
