I know you guys have missed me, so I am back to give you a heads up on future films with THIS WEEK IN MOVIES! There is a good list of sequels that are out and upcoming: Scream 4, X-Men: First Class, Hangover II, Kung Fu Panda 2, and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. A mighty fine list right? Well, adding to the upcoming list of sequels is another “American Pie” movie. Now we are not talking about those inspired straight to DVD movies, but an actual sequel with original actors.

Chris Klein
The movie, called American Reunion, has just got Chris Klein to sign on, joining Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Alyson Hannigan and Eugene Levy to the cast. Other former cast members Thomas Ian Nicholas, Mena Suvari and Tara Reid are still negotiating their roles. According to Movieweb, Jon Huritz, and Hayden Schlossberg (Harold and Kumar movies) are writing and directing the flick which comes out next year; the story will revolve around the American Pie gang’s high school reunion. It has been a lot of time has passed since the last movie, American Wedding in 2003, and we’ll see if people are still hungry for more “Pie.” Switching from some pie to werewolves we have Taylor Lautner.
The trailer for Lautner’s new movie Abduction ,which opens on September 23, is here, check it out:
From what I can tell, the movie looks pretty action packed and I am not mad at that. It seems to have a fast pace and it does not look like it revolves around Lautner’s abs…but I am sure it won’t stop the packs of teenage girls from watching this one!
This next movie is a Will Ferrell comedy, so you can expect some ridiculous shenanigans. But this is Ferrell with a twist…it is a Spanish speaking comedy called Casa De Mi Padre. Don’t believe me? Watch the trailer (warning: there’s a booty shot of Ferrell so watch at your own risk!):
The trailer does not exactly give you an idea of what the story is but MTV describe it as:
In “Casa,” Ferrell plays Armando Alvarez, a Mexican rancher who falls in love with his younger brother’s fiance, leading to death-defying tensions between himself, businessmen and ruthless drug lords…
So brush up on you Spanish because it looks like the movie will be funny but if you cannot stomach Ferrell’s antics then this one is probably not for you. Moving on to what is currently in theaters lets check the standings with Boxoffice.com:
1. Rio (2011)
2. Scream 4
3. HOP
4. Hanna
5. Soul Surfer
6. Arthur (2011)
7. Insidious
8. Source Code
9. Your Highness
10. Limitless
This is a good list, but if nothing catches your fancy then go pick up this DVD, Ip Man 2: Legend of the Grandmaster. Yahoo! Movies describes the movie:
Action superstar Donnie Yen reprises his hit role as the titular true life kung fu folk hero. After escaping the Japanese occupation of his hometown of Foshan, China, Ip Man and his family have arrived in Hong Kong, which is living under the iron fist of British colonial rule. When a boxer named Taylor “Twister” Milos comes to town to entertain the British upper-class, violently insulting both Chinese martial arts and the native citizens, Ip is forced to fight for the honor of both his kung fu and his people. It’s East versus West in an amazing, knock-down drag-out fight to the finish.
