You’re here, I am here…Lets get to THIS WEEK IN MOVIES! To start us off I want to update you on some movies that I have previously written on. Firstly, I want to talk about the 21 Jump Street movie. The new movie, which stars Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, has Johnny Depp making a cameo appearance. According EW, Depp said this about making an appearance:

Johnny Depp
When I heard about it, I thought: ‘Why not?’ It seemed like a good idea. It had the right spirit, because it was looking back on the show that … Jesus, that was 1986 [when it started], a very different world then in terms of what was possible and allowed….It’s nice to come into it and have a bit of closure, in a way. I got out of Jump Street on a sort of
technicality in the middle of filming Edward Scissorhands. I was supposed to go back for a couple seasons, but there was just some weirdness with a date when they had to let me know to come back, and they didn’t and agents and lawyers started going ape. And suddenly, your off and out. So for me, to come back to this, in a weird way, is interesting…It might be difficult to spot me in this one right off the bat I’ll be a little … different.
Depp has played many ‘different’ kinds of characters, and it will be fun to see how he plays into the movie, which will play more on humor than the original show. But you can see Depp later this month in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Now, jumping to another movie I wrote about, Snow White and the Huntsman. The movie stars Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, ‘Pirates 4′ star Sam Clafin as the Prince, and they are now looking for the power of Thor…Chris Hemsworth actually. The Australian actor is in official talks to play the huntsman; a role that was also offered to Tom Hardy, Johnny Depp, Michael Fassbender, Viggo Mortensen, Hugh Jackman, and Joel Edgerton (Indiewire).

Chris Hemsworth
Hemsworth may have caught the tail end of the offers but with his latest box office hit, I am sure Universal will be happy to have him. All right for a bit of newer news I’ll give you a hint. Pop quiz hot shot…Whoa, I know Kung Fu…Okay you got it, Keanu Reeves.

Keanu Reeves
Reeves is in talks with Warner Bros to star in the live action remake of 1988′s anime, Akira. The Matrix star will play Kaneda, a biker gang leader, while Albert Hughes (Hughes Brothers) is set to direct the film (The Guardian). Reeves is older than the teenage character he is supposed to portray but in the new version the action is transferring from Neo-Tokyo to New Manhattan, which will help explain the age difference.
All right enough future talk, lets get to the current standings with Boxoffice.com:
1. Thor
2. Fast Five
3. Something Borrowed
4. Jumping the Broom
5. Water For Elephants
6. Rio (2011)
7. Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family
8. Soul Surfer
9. Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil
10. Insidious
There has been a bit of shift in the standings since last week but there is always another movie waiting to take a spot up there. Again I usually post something a little older in the last part of my post but there is so much new stuff I had to show you some new trailers which could potentially be on the Box Office list:
X-Men: First Class:
Real Steel:
Colombiana:
