News on The Dark Knight Rises

It has been quite a while since we have spoken about The Dark Knight Rises here on WhargarblTV and many news articles and updates have been released on the film since our last post. Well now the latest news as of two days ago is that pictures have been released of Tom Hardy as Bane. If you haven’t seen this picture yet, check it out:

To me this Bane costume/makeup looks incredible and I’m already anxious to see what Chris Nolan has in store for The Dark Knight Rises. There’s currently a website up for The Dark Knight Rises but the only thing that’s up right now is a black screen with the sound of a strange chant. Also some additional news. There are some new cast members that have been revealed to be in The Dark Knight Rises. Those individuals are Matthew Modine, Tom Conti, and Joey King. Matthew Modine is known for his roles as Sullivan Groff on the tv series “Weeds”, Jefferson Billings in Transporter 2, and Private Joker in “Full Metal Jacket”to name a few. Tom Conti is most reccently known for his role as Gonzalo in the movie “The Tempest” and played the character Eliot Firth in the movie “Derailed” six years ago. Finally, Joey King who is an eleveen-year-old actress and joins The Dark Knight Rises cast. Her previous films were Romona and Beezus and Battle: Los Angeles. None of their character names have been revealed for the third Batman installment at this time but according to Slashfilm, Matthew Modine’s character is called “Nixon”. What do all of you think about this news??

    Thanks for your comments Ted. Yea there’s plenty of villians/characters in The Dark Knight Rises but I have faith in Chris Nolan and that he won’t go overboard with characters in the film. My instinct is that he’ll do an amazing job with The Dark Knight Rises just like Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. But we’ll both have to wait and see till the movie comes out.

    So we have Anne Hathaway as Catwoman / Selina Kyle and Tom Hardy in the role of Bane (The Man who Broke the Bat).  In addition, there are also Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Mysterious Skin) in the role of John Blake, who may or may not be a major Batman archvillain, and Marion Cotillard (Inception) playing Miranda Tate, who could be the daughter of Ra’s al Ghul (played by Liam Neeson in Batman Begins).  I thought the last time they stacked this many villains in a Batman film, it resulted into a joke of a movie (Batman&Robin).
