Hey there!! Back again with another on camera interview with some folks during Comic-Con 2011.
The one thing you can count on when it comes to Comic-Con and what they do, is that they are able to bring in people who you don’t normally hear of on a daily basis when it comes to entertainment. Besides big named directors, and actors/actresses there are indeed a lot of other people working on the films and tv shows that we watch.
Some of these people who were given a chance to speak to the Comic-Con attendees were members of The Art Director’s Guild. Nowadays a movie starts with an idea expressed in words or images. The men and women who turn these ideas into worlds of visual reality, be it a distant world of pure imagination or an earthly hovel, are the storyboard artists and illustrators.
The Art Director’s Guild was at Comic-Con and we had a chance to interview a few of the members. One of which was concept artist/illustrator, Josh Nizzi.
Josh Nizzi has worked on some of the most popular films of recent years both as a Concept Artist and Illustrator and, on one occasion as a concept artist for the costume department. That was for the up-coming G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes. Here are some samples of his work from Transformers 3 provided by the ADG PR staff : (thanks!)
He worked on both Transformers: Revenge o the Fallen and this year’s Transormers: Dark of the Moon. He was also Concept Illustratrator on the earlier G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, though this time in the art department.
His work can be seen in three yet-to-be-released films – The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man and Battleship.
Here is my interview with Josh Nizzi, hope you enjoy… a little bit of info for the upcoming film Battleship.
Thanks for viewing and stay tuned for more interview with other members of the Art Director’s Guild.
