Another trailer from the Super Bowl, this one may surprise people. It’s the new G.I. Joe trailer. This one aired during last Sunday’s Super Bowl, come check it out below:
Film Director Jon M. Chu (Step up 2 & 3, The LXD) steps up to helm this film, the sequel to G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (directed by Stephen Sommers), G.I. Joe: Retaliation.
The film is packed with action, and action heroes. Dwayne Johnson stars as Roadblock in the film, with Channing Tatum returning as Duke, the leader of the Joes, and Ray Park joining them as mute ninja Snake Eyes. Bruce Willis, Ray Stevenson, Adrianne Palicki, Jonathan Pryce, Lee Byung-hun, Elodie Yung, and RZA co-star.
If you missed it. here’s the official trailer released not too long ago. The film looks pretty exciting, the action looks very clean, the story seems to be straying away from the original film though and making way for a whole new set of Joes. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Looking for a synopsis of the film? So are we. From what we have gathered it seems that everyone is getting/giving the same answer which is:
A follow-up to the 2009 release of G.I. JOE: RISE OF THE COBRA, which grossed over $300M worldwide, Paramount Pictures, MGM and Skydance Productions, in association with HASBRO and di Bonaventura Pictures, commences production on G.I. JOE: RETALIATION. In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.
