The Office…Steve Carell Trains Will Ferrell!

Being that this is Steve Carell's last season as Michael Scott on The Office, it is a wonder who will replace him. But while NBC tries to figure it out, replacing Carell on the show for now is Will Ferrell. It has been rumored a few days ago that Ferrell was to be a permanent replacement, but he is only signed on for four episodes; in other words he is a "temp" (MTV).  Carell and Ferrell both have good comedic chemistry together and you can pretty much expect to get some laughs.  Here is a p...

Before I get back to business as usual I want to say thanks to Jason aka Midnyte for doing an amazing job the covering last week's THIS WEEK IN MOVIES! Filling in the spot as Lois Lane is none other than Amy Adams. After the announ...

Midnyte Reviews: Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch

Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch was released Friday March 25, 2011. The reviews are in, and they seem pretty low scoring. talks of how Zack Snyder's message of women empowerment lost in the story, or the story being too confusing hurt the film's box office reviews and ratings. Was it all that it was cracked up to be? or was the film just too overhyped? Here's my take on the film. I don't agree with thelow ratings these high-end hollywood critics have given the film at all. Who cares about the ...

SUPERMAN UPDATE…HE HAS A DAD!!

Superman is one of those iconic cultural fixtures that everyone recognizes. Any one of his names (Man of Steel, Clark Kent, Kal-El) brings images or memories of the famous superhero into your brain. Superman…See it's happening right now! So for the new Superman project Zack Snyder has been piecing together his cast which already consists of Henry Cavill (Superman), Diane Lane (Martha Kent) and more recently it has been announced that Kevin Costner has joined on as Jonathan Kent (Slash Film)...

THIS WEEK IN MOVIES!

Welcome back everyone, I got another serving of news in THIS WEEK IN MOVIES!  Now when you think of slasher movies you usually think of the typical psycho in a mask on the loose killing a group of non-suspecting teens…or something to that extent. This genre has some standout films but it is saturated with copycats and B-movies that give this style of movies a bit of a stigma. Judd Apatow (Superbad, Knocked Up) is trying his hand at the slasher film…sort of. Apatow's slasher comedy, formerly ...

Midnyte Reviews: Red Riding Hood

Opening this weekend is Red Riding Hood, with such a familiar title and a story that's been retold time and time again, how does this film fair up to it's predecessors? Bringing in a new style and twist to the all too familiar storyline, the film may have come up a little short on the mark for this reviewer. Warner Brothers has the synopsis set up as: Valerie (Amanda Seyfried) is a beautiful young woman torn between two men. She is in love with a brooding outsider Peter (Shiloh Fernandez)...

THIS WEEK IN MOVIES!

Just like I promised, I am back with another THIS WEEK IN MOVIES! I know I have been mentioning reboots for a little while now and it looks like I may continue because the next franchise to be rebooted is "Tomb Raider." Producer Graham King (The Departed) has obtained the film rights and aspires to get the first film out in 2013 (Yahoo Movies). There has been no mention of who would play the video game heroine, but in case you forgot Angelina Jolie originally starred as Lara Croft in Lara Cr...

THIS WEEK IN MOVIES!

Welcome back everyone, it is time for another round of THIS WEEK IN MOVIES!  Will Smith has seen a lot of success as an actor and is now tackling a movie roles of biblical proportions-literally. The star was reported last year to be attached to The Legend of Cain, a retelling of the story Cain and Abel with a vampire twist (www.firstshowing.net). It is definitely not a word for word retelling and I am pretty sure that these are not the hunky, sexy vampires with high school drama. Apparently ...

Midnyte Reviews: Hall Pass

It's been a while since the Farrelly Brothers have done a movie, four years to be exact. With their track record there were high expectations for this film that dives into the issues of marital infidelity and pokes fun at it. Did they meet or surpass these expectations? I would say no they didn't, rather that they fell way too short for this movie to be a successful comedy. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the Farrelly Bros touch of comedy, but this film may be 10 steps back from There's Somet...

THIS WEEK IN MOVIES!

Time to buckle up because I got another THIS WEEK IN MOVIES! As I mentioned before in a previous article, Hollywood is remaking and rebooting movies like it is in fashion. The next movie on the remake chopping block is the famous Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston flick, The Bodyguard. Warner Bros is giving the 1992 movie a modern makeover by turning Costner's character into an Iraq War vet, and this time the story will involve internet stalking (insidemovies.ew.com). It is The Bodyguard 2.0! S...
